Hundreds of fires were detected across Southeast Asia in February 2010. Widespread fires are a common occurrence during the region's annual dry season.

Winter weather left a blanket of snow stretching from Missouri north to Canada by early March 2010.

Dust blew east-northeastward across Jordan, Syria and Iraq in early March 2010. The dust continued its eastward journey across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the Persian Gulf.
