Before it slips my mind, I want to give parents out there a piece of valuable advice about a lot (if not all) DoCS offices.

We know that they are all wired with cameras that run 24/7 but a lot of parents aren't aware that they are wired for SOUND as well.

Not only are parents and visitors videoed, but they are voice recorded too.

The advice I want to relay to parents is that if a parent is having a meeting with DoCS and their legal rep is present - to go OUTSIDE the DoCS office and talk if something important needs to be discussed.

How atrocious that you give this information away on a public site as this is confidential.

It so is not confidential.

Confidential that video is sound recorded?

That's ILLEGAL!

Are you saying that DoCS offices are illegally recording sound?

Can't wait to see you dig yourself out of this. LOL

That would explain how they can remember word for word everything i had said,

I try to get docs to come and meet me some place other than their office if possible, OR I have on occassions taken my own voice recorder. OF course i asked permission to record the meeting! making it a LEGAL recording

Well I can add to that, the use of one way mirrors to spy on children left alone in rooms, the tactics where they separate children say three of them in separate rooms then one of the interrogators leaves one of the childrens rooms only to walk into another room where they are interrogating another child to tell that child the older one "Quote" ooooOOOOHH you might as well tell us everything now as your little brother has told us everything that has gone on about the abuse. These Moles get taught the art of trickery or maybe they watch to many episodes of CSI.

Hmm, that's a "good cop/bad cop" tactic.

Don't forget, these CSOs and above are continuously having training... The laws haven't changed, so they're not being trained in new law. New laws would likely be a memo passed around via email.

I reckon they're constantly being trained in "The Art of the Investigation" and "The Art of the Assessment".

Oh... And "Advancing Up the Career Ladder 101".

Yes training to trick a child of only 6 to 10 years old to say something bad that they don't even understand.

Yep, that's so true.

Yep, you are spot on again. Just because I have worked for one other government department I know that there is NOT constant training. I mean there is lots of courses and things pertaining to their area of work but in reality the new CSO that looks after your case would probably be very much in the dark and that is why they go and report everything back to their supervisor.
The inexperinced CSO is just taking on the characteristics of their mentors. So they think the judgemental, bullying way is ok and correct. They probably got no idea and if they did would be a tad confused about the whole thing.

Julie,

This is my message for you - GO AND GET A LIFE.
you don't belong here, you don't connect with this forum, you only say trash.
Go back to Sunday School/ Youth group or something.
Stop trying so hard to be a wannabe.
Your veneer is very thin.

You know who let us know about the sound being recorded at the reception area of the offices? My children, they know quite a bit of what happens in the office behind the scenes and fortunately heard some of the gossip too...

Do workers really think if kids are around they dont' take this in? My children did letting us know when they could.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in Child Safety...if you don't have a life, you'd have one sitting there!

The Labrador office had a sign posted about surveillance and voice recording... But I've not seen the sign for a while.

I don't know if it fell down or if they moved it. I had a look about reception area to try and see it when I was last there, but I couldn't see it.

I personally don't believe it's necessary for a DoCS office to record voice... Filming is too common to worry about - but there's no reason to record voice.

The only reason that comes to mind is slight of hand, sneaky activities.
