Hello Aleera, welcome to the forum. bwave
I hope you enjoy your visits & membership here. Alisa has created a warm and welcoming environment for us to post our thoughts and discussions.

Thank you for sharing these links. They are quite interesting to watch. thumbupwink

I think these were all faked or misrepresented for fun as a duende.

The first Gnome video: I think it was probably something like a harlequin where someone had the form attached to their upper body and they were crawling along. Or it may have been a child dressed up in costume.
Also there were two versions of this videos. One of them clearly showed a flash light beam shown across the area where the gnome was shown... and in the other one there wasn't a flash light beam and showed the same gnome.

In the second video you can clearly see a shadow of sorts above the board that is leaning against the wall to the far left. The shadow seems to sway in a tethered motion with the movement of the Duende. This video was the perfect set up for the boys to have filmed further about going and looking behind the board to see what was behind it, but they didn't do that... Sooo, that's another reason it lost credibility with me.

And in the third video, it could've been been a cat or some sort of critter that they had put a hat on. It's really too hard to tell because of the poor quality. It loses credibility with me because there was no more of the video after the last blurred frame... they needed to show where they went back in a few minutes and could or couldn't find it.

-----------------------------

--- One more thing---
During the first flurry on the net when the first video about the 'gnome terrorizing a town' came out, and the story was posted on a website called the Sun or something like that, I surfed & read many many forums across the net about it...
I was gobsmacked and sick to my stomach to realize there is a real danger associated with the nature folks, gnomes. wee folks and other little beings of that nature...
On most of the forums there was enthusiastic agreement that the boys should have captured the gnome.
This scared me to death... What if the gnome had of been a child or a little adult dressed up?
I posed this opinion on one forum and got a few catty chastising replies about being too serious.
I was sooo miffed about it...
If people encourage each other to capture a gnome or wee folk, they could be accessories to kidnapping or worse...

This isn't like big foot, there's not many 8 ft hairy costumed people wandering about the neighborhoods, but it's almost a given that a child could dress up as an elf or gnome and go strolling about.

So, for the most part I try to keep an objective point of view on the subject. When I post comments on videos such as this I try to be real careful with my words.

I hope to someday see a genuine video, so keep searching and posting the links. I'm always interested in watching them.

Thanks for sharing these links Aleera! I haven't seen any of them before and didn't know there were videos of gnomes and such. These were very fascinating to me!

I enjoyed Dawn's comments and could see what she meant about various dubious things. There are always question marks when the video is not your own or from someone you know and trust.

Having said that, I tend toward believing these gnomes, etc., are real. I don't know if they are, but if I had to bet one way or another, I'd go ahead and say "yes" as they didn't look obviously faked. Also I reason that there are thousands of anecdotes on the internet alone (and tons of books) from people who seem very reasonable and sound of mind that share their stories about seeing these gnomes, trolls, goblins, etc. (often only one-off experiences, too). So I have no problem believing the phenomenon is real. Because if only ONE gnome sighting is true out of thousands, then gnomes exist. So to believe they do not exist at all would mean that 100% of people swearing to have experienced them would have to be lying or mistaken.

And lying is actually uncomfortable for humans, hence why lie-detectors work based on body stress. People naturally don't like to lie. It doesn't mean they can't or don't (as we well know wink ), but they have to be rather motivated to do it with good conviction. Sure, some people will create hoaxes, but I believe after delving into many tales of the paranormal, that it is quite rare that they do. There is just no big reward for it that out-weighs the discomfort of living in a lie. For MOST people that is true anyway IMO. So I play the odds and believe most things that are presented with sincerity and that I see aren't obviously faked (generally for a joke or tongue-in-cheek).

And sometimes I am wrong. Like Colmore Fairy Thing. Or so it seems. But this man's major hobby seems to be creating fantasies and I'm not sure he set out to deceive, though he also didn't state it was not real. smirk

But, I believe that dimensions collide or awareness expands at times and people see things like this or happen to capture them on film. Heck, it happens to me, so I know that it is true. yes

For all the questionable aspects of these clips, I felt there were some things that would be difficult to fake. But dunno who knows. Good clips. Thanks, Aleera.

Actually, watching them again multiple times, a bit of the magic was lost. Especially on the second one where the boys are playing ball. It looks as if they might be pulling a string to make the little gnome jump up. I also wonder if they stopped the film so abruptly there because they began to laugh. teehee Because as I perused similar videos linked to it, I could tell it has become a popular joke to make these type of videos. Muddies the water.

I think the same thing that you, Dawn and Alisa. Evidently they are fakes, but I put them because they meet curious kidding dancing
