Statement by the NATO Secretary General on the elections in Pakistan
I congratulate the people of Pakistan on their national and provincial assembly elections, which mark an important step forward in strengthening Pakistan's democracy. Men and women across the country showed their determination to cast their vote despite extremist threats and violence.
Pakistan is an important partner for NATO. I look forward to working with Pakistan�s new leaders in their efforts to achieve long-term peace and stability in Pakistan and the region.
