A memory was triggered in me the other day. And it's not to say I had forgotten the incident, but I just hadn't thought about it recently it seemed. Years ago, about 10, my husband and I went through a phase of riding bicycles around the area we lived in. We often rode to the nearby mall. I was not the most confident rider, especially when we had to navigate through pedestrian areas. As we approached a crosswalk with lots of people waiting to cross, the chain on my bike caught and then came off the tracks. I felt really flustered and wondered how I'd get it back on as I was not at all good at bicycle mechanics. I had to get off and walk the bike and at just that moment the crosswalk had the green light so the crowd started moving across the street. Just then two men walked up swiftly from behind me and before I could register what was happening, had taken the bike from me. It all happened so fast it seemed almost unreal. One man seemed to hold the bike as they swiftly walked while the other deftly realigned the chain. All of this happened in the short space of seconds and the bike was returned to me just as I reached the other side of the cross walk. I can't even remember if I had a chance to realize and thank them, but I remember the hint of a smile on one of their faces as they passed into the crowd ahead of me. I was sure my husband shared this memory with me, but when I asked him yesterday he said he didn't remember it. This amazingly cool good-deed may or may not have been paranormal ...but, it certainly was outside the ordinary.

Wow, what an intriguing experience that you had. I wonder who the guys were. I love moments like that. It's so uplifting and yet so confusing. It confirms to me that there are angels everywhere even human ones. I enjoyed your story. Thanks so much for sharing it. It's ashame you hubby don't remember it. It was a wonderful happy cool deed to have been a part of.

Thanks for the feeback, Dawn. I think they must have been professional cyclists. Or angels. However, what made me think of the bike chain incident...I was reading a book Extraterrestrial Visitations by Preston Dennett. (I'm half way through it and it is okay reading thus far, not great). But anyway, there was a woman who relayed an experience where she was driving a motor bike up in the mountains by herself at night and crashed. Her kickstand was bent severely preventing her from restarting the bike. Just then two "beings" walked up and wordlessly picked up her bike and fixed the kickstand. Although it is hard to say, I think maybe the woman probably over time pieced together the memory (recovered the memory) of these kickstand fixers being alien-like. It is my experience that I will remember spiritual/paranormal experiences as a basic outline of an event. Then all the colours/details get filled in over time. First I remember something happened. Then I remember that it was out of the ordinary. Then I remember a bit more detail. Etc. Until I get a full picture sometimes months or years later. In other instances it helps that I journal my experiences and then go back over my writings to find pieces that weave together amazing "pictures" of a larger reality that I am experiencing as I slowly overcome the innate amnesia/fog that I believe descended when I crossed the "veil" at birth. I also have another story that is not the same type exactly, but still interesting and involves a bike... to be continued.

The other bike story... This happened when I was about 14 years old. I was riding my bike, and not being mindful , I passed in front of a cross street where someone in a pickup truck was pulling out into traffic. I was hit by the truck and thrown into the middle of double lane traffic. One interesting thing is I didn't feel any pain or pressure when I was hit. I just realized I was lying in the middle of the road. I couldn't feel anything really. In fact, I was rather detached and curious maybe even ever so slightly amused watching people rushing around arguing what to do with me. The man in the truck was very upset and he ran out and tried to pull me out of the road. A lady jumped out of her car and screamed at him not to touch me (probably in case I had injured my back). Miraculously traffic in all four lanes managed to stop without any accidents. And amazingly in one car was an undercover police officer who jumped out of his car and showed his badge and summoned the police. And just then a girl I had never seen before walked by and asked if she could contact anyone for me. I asked if she knew my boyfriend of the time (I was meeting up with him somewhere) and despite it being a fairly large community, she did know him and said she would run to his house and tell him. I felt paralysed and could not move for some time as I lay in the road, but I didn't feel the tiniest morsel of fear. In hindsight, I'm quite sure I "left my body" or rather, my consciousness expanded to outside of myself. My soul knew I was fine and sat back watching the whole event as if a spectator. And I was fine--I only had a small gouge on one leg that never did hurt but left a tiny scarred. At some point everything returned to normal and I could move. I don't remember ever feeling any pain or adverse effects.

Oh dear, what a scary thing to happen. It's remarkable that you weren't injured worse. That's so interesting about your observations and lack of pain. I think you're right, I think you probably did detach from your body. I think it's a second nature survival instinct in some instances of sudden trauma. And what about the girl showing up to help. It's just amazing how she knew your boyfriend and went to him for you. I think that's synchronicity at it's finest. Great entry! Thanks for sharing this curious event from your life.

Thanks for reading and all your great comments, Dawn. The whole thing seems perfectly set up and unreal when I think back on it (and of course it was a long time ago, but still...). I hope my memory brings forth more examples to share.
