Yes I know, We will have to wait and see for that one, But I give it a 60/40 chance it will be on UBI, as I know they are concentrating on one package at a time Turkish/Arabic/Balkans ETC.

Few days ago BN TV started to transmit it's signal over N. America via Globecast (Telstar-5)
At the same time Pink TV brought another TV Programme called "Pink EXTRA" on GlobeCast's platform. Maybe, we'll get the same (Pink Plus & Pink Extra) as a part of Balkan Package...

Hi Phil,
Do you know anybody tried and received european sats such as Astra, Hotbird, Turksat1C etc from Perth? I heard that it might be possible with a big dish, but did not do any research for the footprints of those sats yet.

I knew those were too low for our horizon but did not check whether receivable or not same for the footprints as well. I wish it was possible then I would even consider moving to Perth from Sydney. It was probably only a hope from friends. Thanks anyway.

Laser,
I was in Turkey few months back, set up two 90cm dishes for Hotbird & Turksat1C for my father's summer house and received over 700 channels mostly FTA, also used irdeto cam with a fun card supplied from satellite shop and got many goodies. When thinking of those channels and possibilities, living in this part of the world is either a punnishment to most of us or a gift to the UBI type sat provider owners.

This is the problem with living in Australia, we get screwed to the hilt. Most of us get ripped off with lots of things. Free to air around the world you can get hundreds of good channels, we can get nothing in Australia. Now, look at this, on a different topic: (Phil told me this) a brand new CV8 monaro is $63,000 AUD, the same car rebadged as a GTO and sold in America is $32,000 US. Thats $44,000 AUD....Thats $19,000 cheaper to buy our Australian car in America and the American version comes with a rear deck spoiler, ours doesn't. Back to Free to Air tv, it virtually does not exist here.
Fred

Wrong, it's $31,000 cheaper, a dollar is a dollar, a job earning you $100,000 AUD here will earn you $100,000 USD in US (or even more).

UBI is having technical problems as a lot of customers with the newer Tarbs box is getting "Wrong Smart Card" messages. The latest is UBI doesn't have a clue why?
