TV Chile picture quality on PAS8 - AUS-CITY Message Forums

OK!!!!!! As you can see this is another topic on TV CHILE....ok...please, please, and a million times please.....KEEP IT CILIVILISED IN HERE!!!!! Please do not post if you are going to just talk crap about TV Chile and the chilean community....we dont need it here!!! I am just trying to get some answers on the picture quality on PAS8.....for some reason the picture quality on TV Chile is a too bright and programs look a bit funny, its like as when you increase the contrast on your TV and the picture looks too bright and hard to distingush between colours.....Is anyone having the same problem???

yeh looks the same here depends wat colors are on the screen and goes all bright and the tv chile logo is always blurry also

too much compression you reckon?? because surely it wasn't like that when UBI had it for a while...

It is prob the NTSC > PAL conversion. UBI signal was from Europe so it wasn't converted from NTSC > PAL

its coming from the USA so ide say there having the same picture quality issues as tv plus has

Its a SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on my 135cm TV ,not this again. This disease must follow tv plus or anything to do with Pas8

Is it just me or picture quality has improved a lot????

I have excellent quality and sound from the day one last Sunday.

No it not exactly a good quality picture but not as bad as the tv plus channels ( checked it last night)

Opentel” (Irdeto compatible) set top box could anyone give me any information about the above if it can be used for free to air tv "just in case selectv goes down" not that i want it to but you never know more so with UBI having s great Spanish package ( ok maybe in quantitiy and not quality) but still

been watching tv chile past week now and its looking much better now someone from selectv must be watching these forums as the quality has improved alot since day one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" /> also i love this show on there were its got a whole bunch of ppl dancing think it called Rojo or sumthin some nice looking girls on there and good music to go with it im watching it like nearly every afternoon now LOL <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" />

TV Chile started broadcasting FTA on PAS8 July 11th 2005 They said that the signal would be FTA for 3 months from that date ( July 11th ) well its nearly here October 11th and no new channels yet on Selectv I wonder if there stil goin to encrypt as planned??

Might be holding off for the pas8 reconfig to happen soon..

What encryption will they be using in the new NZ pay tv service for the indian Zee channels off Pas 8 does anyone know yet?.

most likely Irdeto 2 as most use this for services in Australia

Thank you, we have installed some next generation MPEG encoders (Harmonic's DiciCom Electra) to try and optimise our picture quality. The TV Chile pictures come from the NAPA teleport and we use a high quality Snell and Wilcox standards converter to make them into PAL. The single hop from the US to end user helps as well.
