Possible good news for TV PLUS customers. A1 TV started their official transmission in the US today after two weeks of tests. You should expect it in Australia SOON!
It's being carried by Globecast World TV on Intelsat Americas 5 at 97W. Transponder 11898 V 22000 SR. Picture looks great! Hope you can enjoy it very soon.
PAL to NTSC back to PAL Ohhhh what a disaster.
It has been said before on this forum that when the channels come out of the states the picture quality is very poor because of the conversion they do from the American system to the Australian standard called PAL.
Well Balkancic,

You'll have to give me couple of days to watch their programme and to be able to give you proper critic about it. Right now everything looks great, but then again we haven't been able to watch macedonian tv here since tarbs went bancrupt.

So you'll have a review in two-three days (end of the week tops).

Allright, time for my A1 review.
Hmm, where should I start from..... Oh yaeh, it's AWESOME!!!!
They are showing a lot of good stuff (great music videos in very long blocks - 3hours just video spots, good talk and morning shows, just their origional programing). I saw yesterday promos for a few other shows already in production.
The feedback from our macedonian-americans who were starving to hear the macedonian word on TV for more than 2 years is incredible. Everyone is satisfied.
Let me just tell you this: A1 targets the 18-55 year olds, while MKTV Sat 40-75 year olds. So judge for yourself about the quality of programming offered.
I hope that you get this channel soon and start enjoying it.

Would TvPlus be the likely carrier of A1 in Australia?
Hi Reuder,

I really think that you'd like the program that A1 Plus is offering. Regarding the video spots, about 90% are macedonian, and the rest videos from Prljavo Kazaliste, Divlje Jagode, Gibonni, Severina among others (in one word EX-JU spots).
That sounds fantastic.... thanks for the update. its a pitty that here in australia our ethnic channels are split over 2 pay tv services.
You're not the first to say that.

Like OPTUS and Telstra??

Its happening all over the communications industry.. from internet, to telephone, mobile numbe rporting.... why can't these companies follow the examples set by our larger corporates?

At the end of the day both companies would benefit.
The companies are greedy. After all UBI wanted the Pink channels but TV Plus put an end to that.
Only 2?

Theres around a dozen. Some try to cater to all others stick to a niche.
