Hi
Can someone please help me. I have a LG 76cm Flatron widescreen tv -its about 18 months old. Recently its been going off by itself. The first thing that happens is the picture goes off and shortly thereafter the sound goes off. If I switch it back on straight away using the remote, it will go off again after about 3 seconds. If I leave it for say 1/2 hour and switch it back on it will play for around 30 minutes and then go off again. It is so annoying when youre trying to watch a program or a dvd.

Does anyone know what the problem might be.

Thanks in advance
Jesse

you have checked all sleep timers etc
and that your video signal cable are all good
if all the above is ok

then you need to take it to a repair man
did you but it with your credit card if so some credit cards offer extended warranty they just dont talk load about it

you can also contact the department of fair trading to see if there is anything they can do

as the warranty period is a min of 12mths as it depends on a case by case and the value of the item

good luck

Jesse
Protection is shutting it down. Over voltage at the tube/overtemperature in general/ ETC. Some NEW LG rear Projection TV's using the new LCD are shutting down because of Over Temperature as that High intensity globe generates heaps of heat, Not recommended if your room is over 28 Deg
Is this model a CRT TV or is it a Rear Projection
Phil

Hi Phil/Jason

Thanks for responding. I think the problem is that the tv is shutting down because of the heat in the room. I'm in Perth and its been quite hot lately.

I will have an LG rep look at it - the warranty is for 3 years [thankfully!! ]

cheers
Jesse

Maybe there is a problem on the system of your TV. Try to ask assistance to the LG service center near in your place. But try to troubleshoot it first maybe there are some things that you touch in the settings.
