Hello,

I live down in Geelong (VIC) and have been corresponding with a guy up in Brisbane who has a HG Monaro for sale. I am trying to get as much information about the car as I can before I make a decision whether to go up to Brisbane and look it over. Do any of the members know anything about the car? The vehicle is from West Brisbane near the GABBA. If any one has information about the car I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards.

Hey matey,

No haven't seen it around from memory sorry.

We may be able to get one of our members to go and have a look at it and then let you know if it is worth the trip, if that is any help to you.

Jodie
Thanks heaps for the offer, is that a real possibility? I have a friend off to Sheparton for Spring Nats this weekend he is going to see what is for sale at the meet. If I have no sucess there I may just take you up on the offer. Who better to look over the car than a Monaro nut! I will keep you posted.

Thanks Jodie.
Yes of course it is a possibility, one of our members would be happy to do it for you. Just let me know
On thinking about it, I think I do know this car. Is the guys name Colin by any chance?
Nice car.
The first thing I would do is buy new wheels.
The guys name is David Hammond. The worrying thing is that he doesn't have any pictures of the car before the build. So I guess I am concerned that the car could have been an old rust bucket brought back to life, resprayed and sold on to me to slowley get cancer and die!

[ 28. Oh OK, I have only ever seen those wheel covers on one car but it must be another. Anyway the offer stands for one our members to look at it if you need us

Have you been burnt musicman? I just think that if you are going to restore a car you would have at least one photo of the car before you started. Just so you have a before and after. Sounds logical to me!
I know the owner of this car and have seen it but only at night under lights. I didn't start groping it or get on the ground but it seems to have a good finish inside and out, engine bay etc with red retrimmed interior. 350/powerglide/9"
HQ brakes. The owner wants around the $20K mark.
Thanks Vern, It looks good from the pictures sent to me. I am looking at a couple of others in the Mlbourne region at the moment too. Cheers for your feedback.
