I love this 'bush walk' photo. cake(for you Alisa)
The central tree in the middle of shot is wonderful. Especially the way the root system looks like a hand feeling down in the ground.
These trees are like central points for nature spirits to gather.

I can see what you are referring to Alisa, there are many peeping through the foliage at you.

The great thing about forest and wood photography is that once you are attuned to seeing these 'spirits', you will see them everywhere. They are in every leaf, plant, grass, tree.

They are everywhere in this shot.

Thanks for your input, Chris. cheerful I really like this tree (wow, it does look like a hand reaching down into the ground). I know what you mean about trees like this, my best captures seem to be around big trees (probably their strength of energy). I also see this photo as full of spirits. The man in the trees was most clear to me and I was amazed at the realistic details of his nose and lips.

Embarrassing as it is to say, I went up to this tree and touched it lovingly before the photograph. I wanted to give it some appreciation and ask for a good photo.

If you want to look at it more closely, here's the original in full size. eyeball

I agree with Chriss about EVERYTHING! thumbsup cake

That tree is one awesome creation. When I first saw it I thought that looks like the hand of God reaching down and holding the world in orbit.
I pondered a day or so and I know that Australia has quite different flora and fauna than we have in the USA... and ya'll also have different critters than we do, so I pondered a bit further and decided that it may be a termite or insect monolith... oh and I guessed it could even been one of ya'lls stone monoliths.
I didn't have a chance to post to ask. (Life has been filled with obstacles this week...)

I'm curious, what type tree is it? I'd love to know.

Your tree man is really a fascinating capture. You can see his features so clearly. ~applause~
I wonder what would of happened if you had of called out to him?

Alisa, you shouldn't be embarrassed I think it honors your beliefs in the spiritual world that surrounds us all.

Where is that cake icon???

I had to edit a couple mis-spelled words... oh how I wish I could blame it on typos. lol

Lovely comments and insights, Dawn. coolpeace

I don't know the name of the tree type. hmm It is definitely a tree though (no termite mound this one freaked ) , and there are a quite a few of these giants in this nearby bush area. I will try to find out.

I am the same, if the tree is not in leaf, flower or fruiting, I am at a loss most times to know what it is. With that in mind I am awaiting a couple of books on tree species etc, so I may honour them by knowing what kind of tree at least I am looking at.
