Someone recently wrote to me wanting to know what orbs are. Besides pointing them to my What Are Orbs webpage, I also wrote:

There are various theories about orbs, but one thing I am sure of is that they are intentional and "alive". They show up in my photos when I want them to. When I initially reached out to the universe and asked for proof of spirit, orbs were the first things to appear. Now that so many people are focusing on orbs, they are showing up in greater frequency as they respond to our belief in them and our outreach to them.

I believe they are part of the elemental world, spirit, nature. They are part of plants, animals and humans. Little spirits like.

They are in abundance outdoors and often appear small and clinging to plants and trees. But they also appear indoors in smaller numbers and they also appear on people's heads/hair. In this way they remind me of when they cling to trees. My understanding is that they are somehow part of the life force that applies to plant, animals and people.

And they do smile...
