What appears to be a magnificent opal is actually a thin slice of a meteorite magnified and photographed by Tom Phillips.

Tom's extensive gallery of photos (link) are filled with specimens beautiful to look at and equally thought provoking. Like this one... what are these dark ovals suspended in a rock from space?!

These are really wonderful photographs Alisa. I had seen them before, but not taken much notice of them. As I looked at them in more depth, I began to smile.

What struck me straight away and made me smile, was the presence of tiny nature spirits in all the photos! They get in everywhere!
They just loved being photographed it seems.

I include a few crops from some of the photos for all to peruse.

[Linked Image] This one looks like a typical interdimensional shot, with so much layering, from tiny little beings to a bigger ones at the front. I took a lot of the colour out of the shot as to show the layering.
[Linked Image] Here is a little top hatted gentleman sticking his head out [img]

[Linked Image] There is a definite figure here albeit in psychedelic colour, with others.

[Linked Image] Another hatted figure and others looking out, as if behind a curtain.

I think Tom is really onto something amazing with his microscopic photography and I appreciate the effort and skill he puts into this hobby he loves and freely shares with us all!
