4.3 quake 25 Jan 5:35 pm (GMT -3)

A intermediate to deep magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported in the afternoon near San Antonio de los Cobres, Departamento de Los Andes, Salta, Argentina.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake hit on Monday 25 January 2021 at 5:35 pm local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 233 km. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from INPRES which listed the quake at magnitude 4.3 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In San Antonio de los Cobres (pop. 4,000, 101 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
