Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.8 just reported 95 km northeast of Kargil, India

Just 17 minutes ago, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Kargil, Ladakh, India. The tremor was recorded early morning on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, at 4:30 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Kargil (pop. 13,800) located 95 km from the epicenter.
