Sorry guys but my eyes can't seem to cope with the black background....and since it doesn't look like the boss is willing to allow a white background option then it is time to say good bye to the forum.....zayonara....

Well sorry to hear that but there is no user option available. The colour scheme selected runs through the forum, and all the related web sites hosted on the server.<br /><br />Users have the option of selecting an avatar, days of posts to display, signatures, but no control over colouring - sorry.<br /><br />Not that anyone is being unreasionable, but we have spent a lot of time doing the portals for the entire aus-city sites and forums. Graphics are selected to match the colours.<br /><br />If we break the scheme for one forum, then next thing its another and another and so forth. The server is paid for by myself, as well as licensing for the forums, and all of the web sites hosted here.<br /><br />In the future should such a forum upgrade exist allowing users to select colouring no problems.<br /><br />However I am not getting into the debate of changing to another style / brand of forum. A few points to remember:<br /><br />1 - The poll relects majority like it.<br />2 - Its a public forum, your not customers if so where are the payments?<br />3- Its my site not anyone elses.

"Customers"?? Hmmm.. You paid a fee? I don't remember that?<br /><br />Well with little over 1800 members and so far all I have seen, 5 people with problems..<br /><br />I have aske numerous people at work if they like the colours or if they had trouble reading/using and no one had any issues.

I dont see a problem with it i prefer it this way and as Dave C said he pays for it he can do as he wishes i would have the same opinion there if i pay for something i can do as i wish <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/default/smile.gif" /> <br /><br />And as the Poll showed there was a big majority who like the new look forum results were :<br /><br />NO 22% (8) <br />YES 78% (28) <br /><br />Results speak for themselves really <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" /> even though it doesnt show alot of members it stil shows more like it then others <br /><br />Anyway like i said i like the new look <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" /> <br /><br />my 2 cents worth <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/default/smile.gif" />

Thanks Lazersat <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/default/smile.gif" /> <br /><br />We are happy entertaining suggestions, but the background has to remain as all the graphics (not just here other pages hosted on the server).<br /><br />I am yet to see any constructive suggestions for example:<br /><br />Changing fonts (maybe the text slightly larger) - If your using a small monitor maybe the text is bleeding (cross luminance). By slightly increasing the font it will resolve this.<br /><br />Changing the text colour (maybe darkening) or going towards a yellow, also reduces cross luminance.<br /><br />Some changes were made like the reply box. We dropped it from 100% white (and on black it WAS bright) down to a light grey.<br /><br />Instead (not to single out any users) we get:<br /><br />I like the old colours better<br />My eyes are bleeding<br /><br />Hardly constructive or descriptive of what the issue is and what could be improved.<br /><br />Thanks!

I have increased the font size up one size. This should make the messages a bit larger....

Not necessarly a paid one.<br /><br />I accept your pool.<br />If the majority likes; that's it.<br />I don't like it as 20% or so. That's it.<br /><br />Joe.

I really love the colour scheme, and thanks David B. for allowing me to use it on my website. Not only is it an attractive, modern style, I like how it gives the feeling of "space", which is the aus-city theme. It suits me because my photo galleries are virtually all night shots and it sets the scene perfectly!
