Hi i'm new to the forum and newbie to satellite tv area,i would just like to ask a question about satellite tv.
i want to install a satellite pay tv in australia but the country the company is in is philippines.
the company is Dream www.dream.com.ph using the
Agila 2 at 146.0°E.
they have a good set of channels for about $12 a month but it's also good for my filipina wife to watch their language programs
the whole equipment costs about $220 with no contract periods, open plan
i'm not sure if i would own the equipment though i have to find that out.

anyone have any comments/suggestions on if there would be any problems with doing this.i would buy the dish/box and all from philippines and take it back to aussie with me and have someone there install it.

Sorry mate... There is no way to pick that satellite in Australia. Do not spend any money because it's on Ku band and covers only Phillipines.
Here you can see the footprint: AGILA II Ku-Band

PS: Tell your wife to be patient, Phillipino Package is coming soon to UBI

Only ppl in top of Aus get it with a 3M KU dish, they use a dreambox and I wont tell you the rest, its a pity the footprint doesn't cover QLD with a 3 M dish.
Try Pas 8 C-band Videoland for movies, they leave Foxtel for dead, its FTA most of the time, I have enjoyed it for over 12 months.
phil
