Hi,
I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I mess something up.
I like the automation of the TLE and TLEMORE.
2 questions.
1) The 2 line elements have 3 lines. The Sat ID, line 1, line 2. In the email now being sent there does not seem to be a CR or LF after line 2 and the Sat ID is at the end of line 2.
2) is ther anywhere that the Iridium sats element are located. I like to see the flares and it is nice to track the Iridium sats.
Thanks,

Hi Mike,

Are we talking about the emailed TLE's or the on-line TLE's?

I have looked at both and there seem fine here. The emailed list is coming here fine and I am able to copy them and they paste fine.

If it is the emailed listed causing the problem, let us know what type of email app you use.

Hi David,
It is nice to talk to you. I feel like I've know you for years the the TLE's and STSPLUS.
Here is the way I got todays. Hotice the ISS is at the end of line 2 of HST. (ZARYA) is actually on that line as well. It just line rolled becaus of the space here.
HST
1 20580U 90037B 06109.94473380 +.00000634 +00000-0 +36763-4 0 05941
2 20580 028.4673 069.5588 0003678 284.9703 075.0487 15.00011099676348 ISS (ZARYA)
1 25544U 98067A 06109.95363748 +.00010312 +00000-0 +70379-4 0 07682
2 25544 051.6389 127.2313 0009116 128.4292 308.1995 15.75496992423986 CXO
1 25867U 99040B 06112.25000000 .00000000 00000-0 00000+0 0 9176
2 25867 059.2176 097.7612 5794290 292.2390 002.2092 00.37794857 1214

I can copy and paste them fine as well it is just, like I said, the sat ID on line 2. I can write code to fix it but I'm a little short on time right now.
Thanks, Mike

Mike,

Thanks for that feedback. After a lot of digging and playing fixed the issue.

I have got the server doing awk 'sub("$", "\r")' to all the data for the TLELIST.TXT and TLEMORELIST.TXT (which are not only available for download, but are used to generate the emails.

This command find the unix LF and adds a MS-DOS CR.

Now the data is fine.

Tomorrows email will be fine.

There's a function in Outlook to remove extra linebreaks. Check Outlook's configuration or the help file. I can remember Outlook's ability to remove extra linebreaks. I had to use it before when I used Outlook.

From Microsoft. Give this a try.... but do it in reverse... enable the "remove extra line breaks". See if that fixes it.

Microsoft acknowledges that Outlook has a problem with line breaks.

Disable the feature that removes extra line breaks. Make note that this method disables the feature for all plain text items. To do this:
1. Open Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Preferences tab, click the E-mail Options button.
4. Click to clear the Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages check box.
5. Click OK twice.

Thanks David,
I looked at it and I already had the box checked.
I don't want to cause trouble for others. If no one else is having the problem just go ahead and leave it or revert back to previous. I can write some simple code here to clean the file as I get it.
Thanks for your time in this.

I do have another question. This forum/thread system that we are using, can I get it anywhere. I would really like something like this for my work. I manage an air ambulance service and we have bases all across the US and I would like something like this so employees can keep in touch with issues. This is much nicer than sending out group e-mails.
Thanks again.

I'll run it by Dave, if you want??

Other wise you can goto http://www.ubbcentral.com/cgi-bin/directme.cgi?to=products and purchase the ubb.threads.

Mike,

Also if you want a forum(s) set up for work, they can be set as private so only authorised people can access them.

Just also letting you know I tracked down the issue causing the TLEMORELIST sending out only a http header, I had to alter the scripts on the server to resolve this issue.
