On 24 March 2009, NATO has resumed counter piracy operations off the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden. Operation ALLIED PROTECTOR is NATO’s continuing contribution to international community efforts to enhance the safety of commercial maritime routes and international navigation in the area.
