Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.3 just reported 87 km northwest of Kashgar, China

Just 20 minutes ago, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Kashgar, Xinjiang, China. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, at 8:46 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.4.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Kashgar (pop. 274,700) located 87 km from the epicenter.
