Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.2 just reported 103 km south of Santa Maria del Mar, Mexico

A shallow magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported around noon near Santa Maria del Mar, Heroica Ciudad de Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, Mexico.
According to Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN), the quake hit on Monday, June 13th, 2022, at 1:01 pm local time at a shallow depth of 16 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well.
