Small magnitude 3.3 quake hits 27 miles northeast of Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia in the afternoon3.3 quake 18 Mar 4:23 pm (GMT +11) Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 3.3 quake in Australia near Mudgee, Mid-Western Regional, New South Wales, only 22 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Monday, March 18th, 2024, at 4:23 pm local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Ulan (pop. 56) located 9 miles from the epicenter. In Mudgee (pop. 11,000, 27 miles away), Kandos (pop. 1,300, 40 miles away), and Denman (pop. 1,800, 47 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
